Rafał Szczepański as the head of the IT department, he has been working at SmartRecruiters since the beginning of the company’s existence and is part of the founding team. He started with a three-person band, which for seven years has grown to over 60 people. Each stage of the company’s life was characterized by specific challenges. Rafał will talk about his biggest failures and successes from the last 7 years. Rafał leads the engineering team at SmartRecruiters – a startup based in Silicon Valley. SmartRecruiters creates a Talent Acquisition Suite that is used to manage the recruitment process. Among the more than 1000 customers there are companies such as Bosch, Ikea, Atlassian, Visa. Rafał has over ten years of experience in building large SaaS systems for clients from the corporate and consumer sectors. At SmartRecruiters he is responsible for all aspects of the engineering department. The aims set before it are: building a top team, maintaining and developing a platform whose attributes are excellent architecture and the highest security standards. His leadership and managerial experiences concern the functioning of various organization sizes: starting a startup (several-person team) to running a large organization (over 60 people).
